Brad Boyd
President of CPY Board
Brad joined our board in February 2005. He has also served as a mentor in CPY’s True Friends program. A sales and marketing executive, Brad enjoyed a 25 year career in the pharmaceutical industry with postings in Amarillo, Buffalo, Boston, Dublin Ohio, Houston and Fort Lauderdale. He and his wife Kay, a retired Springfield teacher, returned to Eugene in 2003. In addition to volunteering with CPY, Brad owns and operates a local business, Dry Cleaning To-Your-Door. David Tam
Vice-President of CPY Board
David Tam with Lincoln Financial Advisors owns a financial planning practice in Eugene, Oregon working with affluent family businesses, philanthropic individuals, real estate investors and physicians. David's practice is built on personal relationships with a great deal of time spent understanding client needs, a crucial aspect in creating a clear and comprehensive family plan. He helps clients resolve complex estate, business succession, retirement and investment problems by developing concise financial plans using sophisticated technological and analytical tools to monitor progress and review client objectives. Mr. Tam attended the University of Oregon where he studied entrepreneurial business and International Economics. Mr. Tam and his wife Jennifer along with their son, Liam, are long time residents of Eugene. He is passionate about many organizations and is an active volunteer for the Asian Council, Asian Celebration, Chinese American Benevolent Association, Committed Partners for Youth, Relief Nursery, Birth to Three, to name a few. |

Pam Hoffine
CPY Secretary
Pam Hoffine joined the CPY board of directors in October of 2006. She is the owner Home Zone Mortgage & Loan, with offices in Eugene and Sweet Home. Pam has dedicated her adult life to helping friends, family and clients find solid and confidential solutions to adversity that often crops up in having a home and raising a family. She has taught classes routinely in the community on subjects regarding not only finances but child rearing, and home and family health.
Pam has a passion for working towards a goal and finding solutions through a holistic perspective. She has also worked as a lobbyist & was instrumental in passing a bill in Oregon to guarantee rights to alternative medical doctors. Pam has a great love of music and has directed both children and adult choirs. She has four children, four grandchildren & recently celebrated her 29th anniversary with her husband, Rick. Pam strongly believes that all children need someone they can look to for an example of how to live life positively and productively with confidence and inner peace – and that’s the magical role of a mentor.

Jim
Schwartz
Jim joined CPY’s Board of Directors in Oct. of
2002. He retired with 30 years teaching 5th and 6th graders in District
4J. He has spent several years as a scoutmaster, leading his troop to the
National Jamboree twice. He has been married to Connie Schwartz for almost
40 years. Connie works in pastoral care. Jim and Connie have 2 sons, Barry
and Brian who live in San Diego and St. Paul. |

Caroline
Cummings
Caroline relocated to Eugene from Philadelphia in April of 2004. She
shortly after became a mentor to a thirteen-year old female youth through
CPY, whom she still proudly mentors. Caroline was hired by the CPY board
to lead the organization’s resource development efforts, which
she led for one year before departing to pursue her passion for creating
a platform for sustainable businesses. She recently co-founded a technology
start-up in Eugene called O So Eco, whose mission is to provide a revolutionary
online gateway for businesses and consumers to exchange eco- and socially-friendly
products, services and information to enable a more balanced and sustainable
world. Caroline’s dream is to become a philanthropist and help
empower disadvantaged people and communities. |

Margeret
Graziano
Sister Margaret joined CPY’s board in February of 1999. She firmly
believes in their mentoring program and other programs for youth. Among
her other activities are Chaplaincy at the Lane County Jail promoting
spirituality, music and art. As a recreational Therapist, she volunteers
at Peace Health in the Johnson Unit and teaches art therapy at The Juvenile
Justice Center for Youth. Sister Margaret has received the most prestigious
award in corrections, the E.R. Cass Award, and this year has been selected
as an outstanding Senior Citizen. |

Gena
Hutton
Gena joined the CPY board in October, 2006. She served on the Planned
Parenthood board for 6 years and has been a national public speaker about
eliminating violence against women. Gena is a community leader who has
donated her time, energy and artistic abilities to many community organizations
for the last 35 years. She has a B.A. in Speech Pathology and Audiology
from the UO and is currently a partner in Me and Her Designs, a web and
videography company. Gena has worked in a variety of artistic mediums,
including photography, multimedia, fabric, pastels and oils. Her passion
for mentoring can be summed up into four words "Everyone deserves
a mentor". |

Laura
Illig
Laura joined the CPY Board of Directors in July, 2006. She is currently
the Director of Marketing for Oregon Community Credit Union, a position
she has held since April, 2005. Prior to moving to Eugene, Laura was
a Vice President in Marketing for Citigroup in New York City and London,
England and has more than 15 years’ experience in marketing, human
resources and organizational development. She has a bachelor’s
degree from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts and an MBA from the
University of Rochester. Laura joined CPY’s board because of her
experience in other cities as a mentor for troubled teens and her strong
belief in the power of mentoring for changing lives. Laura lives in Eugene
with her husband, a UO law professor, and her 5-year old daughter. |

Bobby
Lee
Bobby Lee joined the board of directors in October, 2005. Bobby currently
serves as the Corporate Communications Officer for Hynix Semiconductor,
located in Eugene, Oregon. Bobby has managed two non-profits in Eugene
and Portland.
He received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from University of
Oregon majoring in public administration. Bobby has been politically
active since his college years. He served as student body president at
University of Oregon in 1992. He was later appointed by Governor Barbara
Roberts to the Oregon State Board of Higher Education in 1994 -1996.
He was elected as Eugene City Councilor 1997 – 2001. Bobby helped
manage President Bill Clinton & Vice-President Al Gore’s national
campaign and has worked as legislative staff for Democrats and Republicans
in the Oregon House and Senate. Bobby has additionally served on over
20 boards and commissions throughout the region and state.
Bobby was born in Athens, Georgia but left at the age of five to Seoul,
Korea where his father served as a university president. He came to Oregon
in 1986 to finish his high school education and enjoys living in this
part of the world. Bobby believes that what young people need more than
anything else is someone they can count on – which is why mentoring
youth is so important. |

Larry Smith
Larry joined the CPY Board in 2002. For 25 years he was Director of the UO Career Center establishing many innovative programs focusing upon decision-making, individual skill identification and establishing and developing connections between all types of organizations for recruiting and internships. His Doctorate is from UCLA and he holds degrees from Oregon State University.His involvement with CPY began in 1993 when Fenton & Lee Chocolatiers provided the truffles for the first CPY Truffle Shuffle. Larry and Janele Smith were the original owners of Fenton & Lee.Prior to election to President of the CPY Board he served as CPY Board Secretary and chaired the Development Committee. He is currently working with the Eugene Chamber of Commerce and 4J School District on a middle school literacy project, which partners businesses with the 8 middle schools. |

Tanya
Powell
Tanya Powell is a lifelong resident of Oregon. She is co-owner and Operations
Manager of Windermere Real Estate/Lane County, and responsible for the
company's day-to-day operations, sales and marketing programs. Known
as a pioneer in her field for her unique approach to marketing and real
estate systems, she was elected the chair of the Education Committee
for the Eugene Association of Realtors in 2003. She is a graduate in
communications from Western Oregon University. Tanya describes the CPY
mentoring program as a gift to our community. She adds: “So many
young adults do not have the advantage of good role models and to have
a program supporting these relationships improves their quality of life
and future opportunities. The proactive engagement with these young adults
encourages all of us as our youth prepare to be the future leaders of
our community!” |

Bob
Larson
Bob has been a founding board member since 1991. He has held all officer positions at one time or another. Bob is a commercial real estate broker with Windermere Real Estate. He’s a graduate from Harvard. He’s married to Maryellen Larson, a CPY advisory board member. They have seven children, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Bob’s other passions include racket ball, golf and biking.

Rebecca Heckman
Rebecca became a CPY mentor in 1992 and was a member of the Board of Directors for four years. Rebecca left the Board to complete her M.B.A. and re-joined soon after graduation. She is a full-time consultant, working with diverse organizations in Eugene and throughout the region. In addition to her M.B.A, Ms. Heckman is Certified in the Appreciative Inquiry process and uses this innovative, strengths-based process with her clients. She has consulted with the Idaho State Department of Education, Birth-to-Three and other non-proit and for-profit organizations. Rebecca is a pioneer in the use of the Appreciative Inquiry process to create workshops for families who wish to engage in more open conversations that inspire deeper family relationships. Her company, Appreciative Possibilities, mission is to find the best in each person and each organiation and to bring the best to help them create their Dreams. Ms. Heckman chaired several major fundraisers for CPY and is dedicated to promoting the organization's work. She is an avid reader and insatiable learner who enjoys bike riding, sailing, hiking, running, and horse-back riding. |
