"I’m learning lessons form my youth.  I’ve learned skills to apply to my own life and relationships outside of mentoring.”

CAMPAIGN FOR MEN!
90 MEN in 90 DAYS!

CPY-BBBS announces it’s “90 Men in 90 Days” campaign. CPY-BBBS is working to recruit 90 men (or more!) to become Big Brothers between July 1 and September 30.  When it Comes to Men… There’s a Void. More than 75% of the children waiting for mentors through Committed Partners For Youth, Big Brothers Big Sisters are boys, but only one third of our interested volunteers are male. Historically, CPY-BBBS has been more successful in recruiting women to volunteer while being unable to meet the needs of boys due to a shortage of male volunteers. There are currently more boys on our waiting list then we can readily serve. Some have been waiting for over a year. These boys are eagerly waiting for a call from us, telling them that we have found a Big Brother. Partnering with organizations, businesses and caring adult volunteers will help us to achieve this goal – giving 90 more boys a better chance at a better future.

Please give us a call: 541-344-0833 X105

WHO ARE CPY-BBBS MENTORS?
They are a priceless group of people who are business people, college students, realtors, lawyers, waiters, bakers, carpenters, police officers and retired teachers....yes, they are just like you!

MENTORING IS FUN!
Give youth hope for their future by sharing your passions and introducing them to new experiences for free such as:

DO I HAVE THE TIME TO BE A MENTOR?
The fundamental responsibility of a mentor is a commitment to volunteer consistently 10-15 hours per month with the same youth for a full year (i.e. usually meeting them one time a week). Our goal is that you and your youth will remain friends long beyond the scope of our program.

HOW DO I GET STARTED?
Schedule An Information Session - The first step is to call our office at (541) 344-0833 x105 or e-mail phansen@committedpartners.org to schedule an information session. These meetings usually last about 20 minutes and include an overview of our programs, the youth we serve, mentor responsibilities, the application process, as well as answers to your questions and concerns. If you are interested in being a mentor, we’ll give you an application packet and schedule you for a mentor training.
